At Lammermuir House, we believe it's important to stay active. Our target games continue to be a firm favourite with our residents, bringing out their competitive side.

When our targets are set, there is always plenty of excitement as residents get ready to put their skills to the test and see who can achieve the best results.

Our games offer the perfect opportunity for friendly competition, with residents enjoying the challenge of aiming as accurately as possible. Target games are a fun and engaging activity for residents in care homes, offering a range of physical, social and mental benefits. Games such as bean-bag throwing and ring toss can improve hand-eye coordination, concentration, balance and fine motor skills whilst encouraging gentle physical movement.

Games and gentle exercise also provide important opportunities for residents to socialise and build confidence, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and encourage a positive sense of achievement. Most importantly, at Lammermuir House we change and adapt all activities to suit our residents' different abilities, allowing everyone to take part.

While residents certainly enjoy competing against one another and trying to achieve the highest score, the atmosphere is never too serious. Our residents encourage and support each other, cheering them on and offering words of encouragement throughout.

Whether they are aiming for a high score or simply enjoying having a go, our residents always make the most of the activity. There are plenty of smiles and laughs along the way. The friendly atmosphere at Lammermuir House makes every activity enjoyable and encourages everyone to take part.
